Aparna Malladi was born in Madras, India.  After graduating from college, she moved to the United States where she has been living for the past 19 years.  She currently resides in Los Angeles where she is pursuing a career in film making.

Since the gestation period for a film is long, Aparna started painting in November 2008 to have artistic expression in between her film moments and projects.  Painting helps give her instant gratification and also gives her ideas for her film scripts and visuals.  Her process involes drawing freehand on paper followed by painting with mostly metallic watercolors.  Aparna is very prolific and makes about 15-20 paintings a month.  As Picasso said ‘Painting is like keeping diary’.

She has shown and sold her work at Lost Souls Cafe in downtown Los Angeles and at The Loft in Highland Park.  Most recently she attended her first art residency at CanSerrat near Barcelona, Spain.  Her next port of call is Hyderabad, India where she plans to stay for 5 months and make a feature film and lots of paintings.

Steinberg has exhibited nationally in numerous galleries and museums.  She has taught drawing, design, and painting at Los Angeles City College, Cal State University at Northridge, and Otis Evening College.  She earned her MFA at CalArts and BFA and BA from Cornell University and has received scholarships from art programs around the country.

Her work has been published, won prizes, been listed as an LA Times “Best Bet” and chosen for Eddie Murphy’s film Daddy Day Care, as well as other film and TV projects. In the fall of 2008, a dozen of her paintings appeared on the award winning TV show House in an episode about a painter with a disturbing vision problem.

Critics have said “Steinberg can really paint with confidence and swagger…She paints in volumes and in strong personal tonalities of mood and color.  Vibrant blues, greens and purple, raw, unpainted canvas, erotic or banal, the compositions express a balance of strenuous oppositions…Even a brilliant bathroom portrait takes on an atmosphere of carnival brightness.”

Dennis Griffin, a practicing photographer for 35 years, is a native of Southern California.  Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mr. Griffin founded Studio Griffoto, LLC in 2007 to market his fine art imagery.  His award winning work spans more than three decades and encompasses nature and landscape photography, form photography, travel photography and digital imaging.  Mr. Griffin’s unique style and eye for composition are clearly reflected throughout the broad scope of his images captured in California, Hawaii and other parts of the United States, as well as France, Germany, and Italy.

To quote the artist:  “I have always been fascinated by the interplay of color, design, and the magical effects of light and reflections. From the early days working in darkrooms smelling of acetic acid to the present using the immaculate technology of inkjet printers, my goal of making artful images has remained unchanged…a desire to capture the interplay of light and color to create unique images of beauty in various subjects generated by the hand of God, or man, or circumstance.”

Dennis Griffin’s work is available as signed, individual prints and can be ordered matted, or matted and framed.  The artist prints all pieces individually using an Epson Stylus Pro 3800 printer and Epson Ultrachrome K3^® inks on Epson archival quality papers.  All prints are matted using acid-free archival materials and framed under UV filtering acrylic.  If cared for properly and kept out of direct sunlight, framed prints should last nearly two hundred years.

Born in Ft. Collins, Colorado, Sarah moved to New York to study philosophy at Columbia University. After college, Sarah moved to LA and co-founded the creative studio Friend of a Friend. Sarah’s fine art has shown in group and solo shows in both Manhattan and Los Angeles. Her video art projects have also shown at: The Tank gallery in Manhattan, the Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn, the Great Wall of Oakland, and Victory Media Arts in Dallas.

Born and raised in Wayzata, MN a small town outside Minneapolis. Tooled around the state by bike and saw the country by greyhound as a teen.  Started school in NYC, continued in London’s East End in a neighborhood made famous by its discovery of a suitcase full of body parts in a canal next to my school, went back to NYC and finished my bachelor’s degree there.  Moved to LA a few years ago by a chance phonecall, bought a car, packed it up and drove out here.  Moved a few times when upstairs neighbors were police raided for burglaries in connection to narcotics trafficking.  Had an honest artist’s studio for two months but now paint in my kitchen at night starting at midnight when the dogs inside are asleep and the traffic outside is quiet, and go til the dawn.
