My art work comes from being who I am.

Born in Japan and living in New York City for 10 years, I have had so many opportunities to accept the differences between people, between cultures, between thoughts, whatever they are.

In a process of accepting those differences, I had no choice but to face pure joy and pure pain.

What I create, so called “ art “ represents my personal journey. Sometimes peaceful and joyful and sometimes violent. Raw emotions and sensibility …or even beyond that. This might be one of the reasons that I prefer to use raw materials, such as plywood, staples and nails.
